Compost and Recycling

CU Denver is partnering with Auraria Sustainable Campus composting program to pick up and compost food waste and BPI certified food containers. Our compost stream originates with food waste in our buildings. Composting is dependent on a supply of viable nitrogen rich materials (food waste). Careful separation of food waste from other waste, in our collection containers, allows delivery of quality materials to the ASCP composting operation site. For more information on composting see EPA Info.

Our recycling operations are managed by our waste-hauling contractors who have provided an acceptable materials for recycling guide. If you have any questions about waste pickup, recycling or composting in CU Denver Buildings contact Facilities Management at 303-315-7777 or DC_Facilities_Dispatch@ucdenver.edu. If you have questions about any of these services in an AHEC owned building, call 303-556-3260
