Sustainability is a theme that touches all the units and service areas that comprise Facilities Management and Planning (FMP) and includes a focus on reducing energy, greenhouse gas emissions, water and material waste within CU Denver Buildings.
CU Denver’s efforts in sustainability are led by the Principal Sustainability Professional (PSP). The PSP coordinates CU Denver’s efforts to reduce resource consumption through institutional climate goals and performance metrics as outlined in an institutional climate action plan. The PSP also tracks and reports on campus resource consumption to the State of Colorado and the CU Board of Regents. The PSP works collaboratively with staff from the Auraria Campus Sustainable Campus Program (ASCP), other CU campuses, the CU System Office and passionate climate advocates on the campus including students, staff and faculty.
Our campus sustainability efforts are stronger as a collective. If you are a faculty member, staff or student of our CU Denver community and have an interest or current role in advancing sustainability on campus, please reach out to sustainability@ucdenver.edu!
We’d love to hear your ideas, questions, and operational sustainability challenges you’re seeking to overcome.
The following guides and programs already exist (many of which are offered through the ASCP):
