Greetings Web Community,

We are pleased to share the following updates for our December 4, 2024 Sitefinity release:

Bootstrap 5 Upgrade

The upgrade to Bootstrap 5 was completed successfully on November 16, 2024. In preparation for the upgrade, the Web Development and Operations team conducted extensive testing and fixed 20+ issues that were identified through testing.

Enhancements to Current Functionality 

• Pencil menu update: You now have the option to select “Access Pages” directly from the Sitefinity pencil menu. This is a more direct option for making page edits than selecting “Access Dashboard”.

• Social media options: Bluesky has been added as a social media option for social media links, web bios, featured tabs, and facts & figures.   

Noteworthy Bug Fixes

• Anchor navigation: A bug has been fixed where the anchor navigation could overlay the top navigation and sitewide banner is some scenarios.
• Featured Tabs and Checklist Phases: A bug has been fixed where the tab specified in the URL would not open to that tab. 
• Newsroom/Articles: A bug has been fixed where images were disappearing from the featured articles template when a background was used behind the widget.
• Bootstrap 5:
  • An issue with scrolling in the mobile navigation menu has been fixed.
  • An issue with gray, gold, etc. horizontal rules not having full opacity has been fixed.
  • A bug has been fixed where cards using the background hero view did not have padding.
  • Anchor navigation menus are no longer missing the left margin.
  • A bug where negative margins were missing has been resolved.
