Accessible Parking & Transportation

Auraria Higher Education Center Parking and Transportation Services is committed to serving all Auraria students with disabilities, and partners with the CU Denver office of Disability Resources and Services to provide equal access to campus Transportation. Please use the dropdowns below for more information on accessible parking and transportation on campus.

Accessible parking is available in nearly all lots on the Auraria Campus. Accessible parking spaces are marked and reserved for vehicles that have a state-issued disability placard or license plate. Please note that state-issued disability placards and disability license plates are not exempt from payment at Auraria Campus parking meters. Daily-fee lots and metered spaces require payment at the time of parking.

The Campus Accessible Shuttle (CAS) service is supported by the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC). CAS serves all three institutions that are a part of AHEC: CU Denver, MSU, and CCD.

CAS is a transportation program for people with disabilities who need a ride to and from the designated CAS stops within the boundaries of campus and to CU Denver buildings located across Speer Boulevard.

How to Register for CAS as a Student

If you are already registered with the office of Disability Resources and Services, contact your DRS Coordinator via email or schedule a 30 minute appointment with them through Accommodate.

If you are not already registered with DRS, please submit a request for accommodations through Accommodate.

A DRS Coordinator will review your request for CAS and discuss your need during a consultation meeting. Further documentation may be required if the request is not related to a disability already disclosed to DRS.

Upon CAS approval, you will receive a validation sticker to place on your campus ID to present when boarding the shuttle.

General CAS Information

CAS provides transportation within the boundaries of AHEC campus. There are designated CAS stops throughout campus. Some CAS stops are also RTD Accessible Rider stops. Riders must be at the designated stop they've requested. As well, service will only be made to the designated locations on the map; special requests for stops are unfortunately not possible at this time.

Hours of Operation

CAS is available Monday-Friday from 7:30am-6pm. If you are in need of a ride after 6pm, transportation will be provided by the Auraria Campus Police Department (ACPD).

Important Note: Service to location #23 has been temporarily suspended due to construction at Colfax and Lipan. Instead, riders should request stop #19 by the Auraria Early Learning Center or #4 at Boulder Creek.
