Sitefinity Release Notes: March 26, 2025
Jozianne Mestas | Office of Information Technology Mar 26, 2025Hello university web community,
We are pleased to share the following updates for our March 26, 2025 Sitefinity release:
Updates to Strategic Projects
- Transition to Sitefinity Cloud preparations:
- www1.ucdenver.edu subdomain deprecation: As communicated in October 2024, we have been reaching out to the limited number of site owners this change would potentially impact to prepare for deactivating this subdomain that is no longer necessary on April 2, 2025.
- Web Services and Web Development/Operations public roadmap transition to ClickUp
- We are transitioning our current public roadmap web page to our new project management software platform, ClickUp. The web link will remain the same.
Enhancements to Current Functionality
- Font Size increase:
- We have increased the default font size for all Sitefinity hosted web sites to 16 pixels (currently 14px for most content).
- Content Type CTA Title Field Update:
- We have added a new field in the Content Type CTA called ‘Button Label’ which will override the ‘Title’ field if it’s filled out. This means you can use the ‘Title’ field as a description to easily find it when adding it onto a page.
Accessibility Improvements
- Siteimprove Policy:
- As part of our CTA (Call to Action) markup updates, a new policy in Siteimprove will help to notify you when old CTAs needing manual updating are detected on your pages, thereby making them easier to find.
- Please clear your browser cache for this accessibility tool update to appear in your editing interface.
- From the accessibility dashboard, these findings will be shown under Accessibility policies:
- As part of our CTA (Call to Action) markup updates, a new policy in Siteimprove will help to notify you when old CTAs needing manual updating are detected on your pages, thereby making them easier to find.
- Accessibility Cleanup Button:
- Additionally, to assist site owners with CTA (Call to Action) markup updates, when editing the content block, you can use the Accessibility Cleanup button to fix the markup with one click.
- For CTAs inside widgets (like accordions), you will need to edit and re-save the CTA for the changes to take effect:
Step 1: Click on your CTA and then click on the CTA button in red to edit it:
Step 2: Then you can click the green ‘Save’ button to reinsert the CTA with the proper markup.
