How to Apply and Send Official Transcripts

Residency is initially determined during the application process, and in most circumstances, your residency classification will affect your tuition rate.

In the event that your residency status changes once you are admitted or at anytime during your studies here at CU Denver, you are encouraged to submit a Residency Petition form to the Office of the Registrar.

A non-refundable $50 application fee must be submitted with your application via PayPal or credit card. You may also mail a check directly to the university. Please make checks payable to University of Colorado Denver and write your name and date of birth on the front of the check.

• Submit your official or unofficial transcript to complete your application file.
  
  To be considered official, request an official high school transcript be mailed from your high school directly to the CU Denver Office of Admissions. A hand-delivered transcript may be considered official only if delivered to the admissions office in the original sealed envelope. Faxed transcripts are unofficial. Electronically delivered transcripts are only accepted from a high school counselor or through Parchment/Docufide, etc., and are considered official when received. A final official high school transcript showing your date of graduation will be required.
  
  
• If you did not graduate from high school, request official GED test scores be sent directly from the certifying agency to the CU Denver Office of Admissions.
  
  
• Request that Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) scores be sent directly to the CU Denver Office of Admissions (SAT school code – 4875, ACT school code – 0533 (If test scores are posted on your high school transcript, a separate score report does not need to be requested from the testing agency.)
  

Please note: Applicants are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores. Submitting test scores is optional, and won't negatively impact your application. Review our FAQ for more information.

Hard Copy Transcripts
To be considered official, transcripts must arrive in the original, sealed envelopes from the school or university.  Please have your transcripts mailed or hand delivered to the address below.

Deadline

Your final official transcript(s) must be submitted to our office no later than two weeks before your current semester start, otherwise a hold will be placed on your account preventing you from registering for the next semester.

Please note: Failure to submit the missing transcript(s) listed above will result in a registration hold on your account. This hold will prevent you from registering for the upcoming semester.

Send Your Scores

If you did not graduate from high school, request official GED test scores be sent directly from the certifying agency to the CU Denver Office of Admissions. CU Denver's minimum GED consideration threshold is a 145 total score and a 145 in each  of the four content areas.
