CU Denver’s affinity groups support the institution’s goals of being equity serving and a people-centered best place to work through voluntary association based on identity, background, interest, allyship and/or goals. Affinity groups will contribute to this work by providing community engagement and educational opportunities relevant to their communities and by supporting professional development of their members. Membership in affinity groups is open to all CU Denver employees and there is no limit on group size.

Operational Teams support our ESI goals by developing proposals for programming and policy that address structural and environmental barriers to success for students and employees. One of CU Denver's priorities is to create a more cohesive, collaborative and inclusive culture ensuring that all who learn, teach, research and work here feel that they belong. Operational Teams are comprised of faculty, staff, students, and community members; they are limited to 8-10 members each.
The IEC is comprised of Associate Deans and Unit Leaders from each of the colleges, schools and business units. It is a standing council that was formed in Jan 22, 2022. Its charge stems from our 2030 Strategic Plan to become the nation's first equity serving institution and to be known as a people-centered best place to work.
