The Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander - Serving Institution (AANAPISI) at the University of Colorado Denver. As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, our AANAPISI program is dedicated to enhancing the academic success and empowerment of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) students.
Our mission is to cultivate a community of belonging at the University of Colorado Denver by growing research-based student success and mental health support, resources, and services for Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander students.
In 2024 Chancellor Michelle Marks and Vice Chancellor for DEI Antonio Farias have prioritized the evaluation of our data systems to ensure that the diverse and varied identities of our campus community are accurately reflected in our online systems in an effort to reduce harm and invisibility.
This complex effort, called the Inclusive Self-Reported Demographics Project, is a collaborative 2-year initiative between the Office of Information Technology and the Office for DEI, with implications throughout the CU System; it has far-reaching support and is imperative in ensuring both belonging, safety, and support services to our students and employees.
