Ticketing

CU Denver graduate holding diploma sleeve up standing in front of Colorado Convention Center

General Information

Tickets are required for the ceremony for any guest over the age of two. Graduates do not need a ticket and will enter through a separate door from families and guests. The only individuals who can claim tickets for the ceremony are graduates, and they should be checking their CU Denver email regularly for updates and details. Graduates will be given access to the ticketing platform to claim up to 8 tickets on Wednesday, Oct. 16 for the Fall ceremony. Providing up to 8 tickets per student evenly distributes all the available seating in the Colorado Convention Center amongst the graduates. All tickets must be claimed by Thursday, Dec 5., at 7 p.m., Mountain Time.

Transferring Tickets

Once tickets are claimed by the graduate, students will be able to email tickets to their family members and guests. It is preferred that guests have their tickets available digitally on the day of the event, however printed tickets will also be accepted. Tickets will be scanned prior to entering the exhibit hall.

We encourage graduates who need additional tickets to coordinate with other graduates who will not use their full allotment.

Please note: all CU Denver commencement tickets are issued to participating graduates at no charge, with a zero-dollar value, and are the property of the University. The sale, purchase, or duplication of Commencement tickets is strictly prohibited and could constitute a violation of the Student Code of Conduct. Graduates found partaking in these activities will have all of their tickets voided, and their actions could result in a referral to the Dean of Students Office.

Entering the Ceremony

Doors will open beginning at 7:45 a.m. for guests. For everyone’s safety, all individuals attending and participating in the ceremony will be required to pass through a security checkpoint with magnetometers. It is recommended that attendees not bring bags or other non-essential items that could delay access through security. Once upstairs, guests will present their ticket to be scanned at the ceremony entrance. Each ticket will have a unique QR code. Registered graduates do not need tickets to enter and will be checking in at a separate area with your school or college representatives.

All guest tickets are considered “general admission.” This means there are no assigned seats and seating is first-come, first-served. Tickets are required for the ceremony for any guest over the age of two. Children two and under do not need a ticket to enter the ceremony provided they are not taking a seat.

Guests will be allowed to exit and enter back into the ceremony provided they pass through the magnetometers upon re-entry and they scan their tickets on the way out and back into the ceremony.
