An Ending Celebrating a New Beginning
Commencement honors the achievement of one's academic goals and the beginning of the next vocational commitment. CU Denver ceremonies occur twice a year in December and May. Summer graduates are invited to participate in the fall ceremony. Students will only be permitted to participate in commencement after they've completed all of their degree requirements and applied to graduate.

Tentative Ceremony Date: December 18, 2021
COVID-19 Update (As of July 15, 2021)
We are working on plans to recognize our summer and fall graduates this December. The university will continue to remain agile in its approach as public health guidance evolves and will continue to be in close coordination with city and state health officials. Our goal is to communicate plans by early October so graduates and loved ones can make necessary arrangements. All eligible graduates will be emailed with next steps, in addition to the details being posted on this website.
Applying to graduate and registering for commencement are two separate processes. The deadline to apply to graduate to ensure you've met your requirements with your academic advisor is September 8.
Registration for participating in the commencement ceremony will launch in early October.
