We’re pleased to announce something exciting we’ve been working on for 6+ months: the ability for you all to visually enhance the color style of various content types and widgets, including changing the background color, text color, and border color! You are now able to do this on the following widgets: Padding widget, Highlight box, CTA inside a content block, CTA widget, CTA content types. Click on the links to learn more!
Enhancements to Current Features
Photo captions on images in articles: previously, we just had captions on images enabled for articles in the hero image. Now, you can choose to show captions on any image in the article. You’ll need to turn this on in the article by selecting the “show caption” checkbox. Enhanced navigation: we found and removed some extra padding in the navigation that was not needed.
Articles: we have turned on the ability to show article summaries on external articles.
Header: CU logos are now clickable in the header, bringing the user back to the main campus pages to improve navigation in the hub + spoke model.
Fax numbers in local footers: we have added a field to the Department content type called “Fax Number,” where you can add a fax number for your school/department if needed. To add a fax number, please submit a request.
SEO + Technical Improvements
CMS Login Button: We’ve removed the CMS access point from our crawl path as well as changed the button from an ahref to span to improve SEO. This button is also now keyboard accessible to improve accessibility.
SiteImprove: we’ve added page views javascript to improve reporting.
Strategy University Projects

Bug Fixes
CTA in local header: we fixed an issue where the text and icons were wrapping too early.
People content type: if there is just a resume and/or CV added to a content type, it wasn’t showing in the detail view. Now, if they are the only things added, it will be shown under the Bio tab of the detail view.
Checklist step default dropdown: select sorting order has to be removed
Research Admin: fixed an issue where the description was only showing in the first tab, not all.
Ongoing Work + October 2020 Sprint Preview
We will not be holding a Sprint Review meeting this month since we are heads-down on our Web Biography project, Search + Filter project and Navigational changes we referred to in last month's meeting. In the meantime, we wanted to share out the ongoing work that is happening behind the scenes and isn’t so much reflected in our release notes.
