Sitefinity Release Notes: June 19, 2024

We are pleased to share the following updates for our June 19 Sitefinity release, along with a reminder about rapidly approaching web accessibility law requirements:
Reminder: Action Required by July 1 for Web Accessibility Compliance
The new Colorado accessibility law, HB21-1110, affects university websites and will go into effect July 1, 2024. This means that university website owners/content managers must ensure your website content meets the minimum web accessibility standards before July 1. Learn how to meet accessibility standards.
Updates to Strategic Projects
- CU Denver Wellness & Recreation calendar: The new Wellness & Recreation calendar integration with Fusion and Sitefinity has been released to support a unified calendar experience for users.
Enhancements to Current Functionality
- Web Bios: The search feature for web bios now allows users to search by job titles, in addition to searching by name. Learn more about web bio search and filtering on AtWeb.
Accessibility Improvements
- Academic Programs: Link underlines have been added to Academic Programs to align with digital accessibility requirements. Aria labels have also been adjusted to align with visible text.
- Documents: PPTX icon color contrast has been updated to resolve a Siteimprove flag.
- Empty containers: Additional empty container issues in Siteimprove have been fixed.
- FAQ: Link underlines have been added to the FAQ widget to align with digital accessibility requirements.
- Focus outlines: Focus outlines have been added to the Blog Posts, Checklist Phases, Documents List, Featured Tabs, and Newsroom widgets to resolve Siteimprove issue flags.
- Forms: Text color has been updated to resolve a color contrast issue.
- Images: Decorative images will now have an empty alt attribute to indicate they are decorative to screen readers. Learn more about decorative images on AtWeb.
- Web bios: A Siteimprove issue flag with empty <ul> has been resolved.
Noteworthy Bug Fixes
- Academic Programs: Font weights have been updated for consistency.
- Form email templates: A bug preventing site editors from editing email templates in Sitefinity Forms has been fixed.
- Pages: A bug has been fixed where not all pages would display in the Pages tab due to an issue with editor name length.
- Redirects: A bug has been fixed where two redirect pages that point to each other cause a timeout when opened to edit.
