Metal Detectors

All students, faculty, staff, and guests will be required to go through a magnetometer or be wanded upon entrance into the facility. Follow signs for the guest and student entrances.


Clear Bag Policy

Guests, students, faculty, and staff will be asked to abide by the commencement venue clear bag policy. All guests will be checked upon entry into the commencement ceremony.

Approved Bags

Clear Bags

Bags that are clear crushable plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" W x 6" D x 12" H.

Plastic Storage Bag

One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

Small Clutch Bag

Small clutch bag approximately the size of a hand (6.5" W x 4.5" H or smaller), with or without a handle or strap. This can be carried separately or within a plastic bag.

Prohibited bags

All other bags are prohibited when entering the venue. Examples of prohibited bags: backpacks, purses, not clear fanny packs, not clear diaper bags.

  • Aerosol cans
  • Alcohol
  • Animals (service dogs and service dogs in training permitted)
  • Artificial noisemakers
  • Balloons
  • Bat
  • Poles and sticks
  • Bottles and cans (metal, glass, or hard plastic)
  • Coolers and ice chests
  • Bicycle helmets
  • Firearms
  • Fireworks
  • Flags on poles
  • Illegal drugs
  • Laser pointers
  • Marijuana and tobacco products (all forms)
  • Objects that can be used as projectiles (i.e. balls)
  • Outside food and beverages (exceptions will be made for those with medical requirements and/or special needs)
  • Scooters
  • Bicycles
  • Roller skates and skateboards
  • Tripods
  • Monopods and selfie sticks
  • Umbrellas
  • Weapons
  • Any object that might pose a risk to the guest or others

  • Water bottles (disposable and crushable)
