Tarah Dykeman Aug 28, 2024Greetings Web Community!
We are pleased to share the following updates for our August 28 Sitefinity release:
Updates to Strategic Projects
- CU Nursing: A new container ID option for CU Nursing has been added to the Google Tag Manager field in title & properties. Learn about setting up pages.
Enhancements to Current Functionality
- Group Pages: Group pages are no longer clickable in top navigation menus using the enhanced and horizontal navigation templates. This means that website visitors can only hover or focus on a group page instead of clicking on it. When a group page is hovered or focused on, a dropdown menu of its child pages displays. We recommend that you implement either all group pages or all standard pages in your top navigation menu to create a consistent user experience. Learn more about navigation templates and types of pages.
- Web Bios: A new web bio doctors template has been released to support the needs of SOM web bios.
Accessibility Improvements
- Accessibility Cleanup Tool: Empty <li> elements are now part of what the cleanup tool will automatically remove.
- Card Widget: A new field has been added to the card widget so that an aria-label can now be manually added to the card. The aria-label is specifically for screen reader users and should describe the content of the card. If the card is a link, the destination of the link should be described in the aria-label.
- OIT Software List Widget: An aria-label has been added to the software icon in the software list which should automatically reference the title of the respective software.
- Top Navigation: The behavior of the quick links in the top navigation been modified to make keyboard only usage and tabbing more accessible. Additionally, an issue where the quick links overlay would remain open despite tabbing outside of it has been resolved.
- Web Bios: Link underline styling has been applied to all links within the content of web bios.
Noteworthy Bug Fixes
- Articles: A missing closing quotation mark in block quotes has been added.
- Checklist Phases: A gray line displaying in between phases has been removed.
- Web Bios: The CV/resume field now shows even if it’s the only populated field.
