Steve Leveen

Steve Leveen embarked on his own next chapter back in 2014, when he retired from the retail company he and his wife had founded and began to explore bilingualism in America. Always one to be all in, Steve made Spanish his “adopted” language. After two executive-fellowship years at Harvard and Stanford where he interviewed experts on bilingualism, he launched the America the Bilingual Project, which reports on the surprising changes in bilingualism in America. The project’s podcast is now in its fifth season. Steve’s widely praised and award-winning book, America’s Bilingual Century: How Americans Are Giving the Gift of Bilingualism to Themselves, Their Loved Ones, and Their Country, has been called “a must-read for our times.”
