Planning Your Last Year Before Tenure

Handout

Your last year before tenure can feel like a lot of work -- and a blur -- all at once. It's a time to make your best case for yourself, and also to accomplish the last few things you need in order to excel.

At this active session, we discuss the basics of planning a timeline for dossier preparation. After watching, you'll be able to start creating a timeline for yourself.

We'll also discuss some closely related topics such as:

  • Accomplishing the last professional few things that you wish to do before tenure
  • Addressing "works in progress" in your dossier
  • Keeping your documents organized
  • When to start building your dossier (spoiler: start early!)
  • Thinking about your first sabbatical
