Dr. Han is an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at CU Denver. His research focuses on the interface of digital building environments, computing, and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). His prior work created fundamental knowledge that connected Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) to engineering practices, including performance measurement, model optimizations, and data management. Dr. Han's current research aims to develop new knowledge on converting these digital building representations into practical tools to promote inclusive and user-friendly building environments. Moreover, Dr. Han developed VR/AR as an educational tool in the Planet Texas 2050 program, a grand challenge program for the University of Texas at Austin. He led an interdisciplinary team that converted sustainability research into pedagogical content to inclusively engage the general public.
