Previous Champions Reunited
'Team Elder' looking to repeat as event winners
Richard Gonyeau | Office of Information Technology May 10, 2019The 2nd Annual OIT Hack-a-thon will be held on July 12th at Kennedy Golf Course in Aurora. In the run-up leading to the most anticipated golf event of the year, participants have already expressed interest in taking down last year's champions.
"I'm not saying there will be a 'Nancy Kerrigan' moment, but we haven't ruled anything out yet," said one golfer who wished to remain anonymous. Another participant was much more forthcoming,
"P.E.D.'s, Human Growth Hormone, Creatine, Testosterone... I'm taking everything. My endocrine system is purely chemical at this point. I'm actually lucky to be alive."
Location
Kennedy Golf Course offers the usual challenges to the amateur group, with plenty of sand, water, and trees to avoid. However, the number of hazards doesn't really matter. The skill level of this group would see them struggle to reach par on a miniature golf course.
Format
The format will be identical to that of last year, with teams of two competing in subsequent 9-hole matches. As noted above, Team Elder will remain united, while the other three teams will be chosen at random from the remaining six participants. The only caveat being that players cannot be paired with the same partner from the previous year.
Tee-times are currently TBD. Check back at a later date for the finalized details.
