Academic Program Evaluation and Reporting


The Office of Academic Program Evaluation and Reporting (APER) uses data analysis, program evaluation, and financial reporting tools to support an efficient allocation of campus resources. Our office conducts financial analysis of proposed campus academic programs, centers, or institutes. Our office also develops reporting tools to review existing programs. The office serves as the campus liaison for legislative proposals and identifies the fiscal impact of proposals upon CU and the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus.  The office also takes a lead role in authoring publications such as the University economic impact reports.

The goals of the Office of Academic Program Evaluation and Reporting are to support:

  • The development of new academic programs and centers with a financial review 
  • Informed decision making by developing business intelligence reports and tools
  • Financial strategies and reports in response to evolving educational policies
  • Balanced and impartial program evaluation and return-on-investment analysis
