AI and the Power of Choice:
A Conversation about the Global Ethical Use of Emerging Technologies
Tuesday, September 24, 2024
12:00 pm – 1:30 pm (Mountain)
Jake Jabs Event Center
CU Denver Business School, 1st Floor
1475 Lawrence St. Denver, CO 80202
Program Overview
During the past months, we have seen much handwringing about the ethical use of emerging technologies both on a local and global aspect, especially LLMs such as Grammarly and ChatGPT who seem to complete human tasks faster and better than humans. Ultimately, as we design the ethical parameters of the use of these technologies, each of us has the opportunity to work within our circle of influence to inform our own and the community's understanding of how to use these emerging technologies ethically. This presentation will focus on how we can identify our circle of influence and use our own power of choice and persuasion in shaping the ethics of emerging technologies.
