Lecture Overview
The internationalization of new ventures is an important aspect of international entrepreneurship. The talk by professor Zander will take its starting point in entrepreneurial cognition and the central role of entrepreneurs’ subjective means-ends frameworks in the development of new ventures. Introducing the concept of imagination, particular emphasis is then placed on how imagination feeds into our understanding of entrepreneurial internationalization and how that understanding differs from traditional accounts of the internationalization process. What are the implications of imagination for expected patterns in the timing and modes of internationalization? To what extent can imagination be an asset or liability for internationalizing entrepreneurs?
