Fall 2020 Grading Options

Oct. 14, 2020 @ 2:38 p.m.

Greetings,

As was mentioned by Provost Nairn during the Town Hall on October 13, 2020, we are writing to update you on the grading options for Fall 2020.

For Fall 2020, the University has modified our standard pass/fail process and students may select a more flexible P+/P/F grading option.  To select this option you must submit a schedule adjustment form to the Registrar’s Office by the extended deadline of October 25, 2020.  Under this option, the P+ is awarded when the standard letter grade earned for the course would have been C- or above. P is awarded when the standard letter grade earned for the course would have been D+, D, or D-. The P+ and the P do not have an impact to a student’s GPA. The F does impact the student’s GPA.

This option is different than what was offered during Spring 2020 when everything went remote without warning. We did not continue the Spring 2020 grading option because there are long term implications to student funding, academic progress, and the minimum GPA requirements for programs and scholarships.

We are still evaluating options for Spring 2021 and will be in touch when a decision is made.  If you have any additional questions or concerns about the grading options available to students, please feel free to contact Lynx Central at (303) 315-5969 or lynx.central@ucdenver.edu or schedule an appointment with your academic advisor.

We know this continues to be a challenging time for all of us and we wish you continued success as the semester continues.
