Associate ProfessorComputer Science and Engineering
Dr. Farnoush Banaei-Kashani is an Associate Professor in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver. His research is primarily focused on fundamental and applied data science and machine/deep learning with special interest in intelligent data-driven systems (IDSs), i.e., systems that automate the process of decision-making based on real data. In the past, his lab has introduced a range of enabling solutions for various components of the data cycle to address different combinations of the Big Data V3 challenges in enabling IDSs. These solutions have been integrated into several real-world systems, which come from distinct application areas including, earth sciences, life sciences, health and medicine, energy, transportation, and urban analytics. For the ARIAD project, Dr. Banaei-Kashani offers expertise in data science and machine learning and will participate in developing data scientific solutions for the related research problems.
