Project SOARR offers training, materials, and support to tech mentors who support older adults learning to use technology. Our team members have specialized knowledge in assistive technology, universal design, technology, and instruction.
Our team includes professionals who have worked as teachers, speech-language pathologists, and instructional designers.

Mr. Sandstrum has 30 years of experience specializing in technology for people with disabilities, human factors, and accessible design of information and communication technologies. He currently leads CIDE's work with industry partners providing consultation, accessibility services and usability testing of web, software and hardware devices. He began his career as a clinician specializing in the application of assistive technologies for individuals with cognitive, sensory, and physical disabilities with an emphasis on inclusion in educational and employment settings. He has served as principal/co-investigator for federal, state, and local grants and contracts focused on research and development of novel assistive technologies, professional development, and technical assistance projects.
