The following Tech Act services will look a little different until we can return to the office. Our contact information remains the same however and we are working and ready to help.
Lending Library: The Assistive Technology loan programs have
temporarily suspended device loans. You can still request items via Alexandria
and we will put your request on a wait list. We will process your request when
loan activity resumes. If you have an active loan, you are welcome to keep it
until the end of the loan period.
Training & Presentations: We have been busy continuing
training and presentations planned using Zoom for scheduled events when
possible. Zoom is a remote video platform. If you are scheduled, you will get
an email from us with directions. We have been working with groups to reschedule
live events upon request.
Demonstrations: We have been using Zoom for scheduled
demonstrations. Device demonstrations are a guided exploration of a specific
device, or category of devices, to educate consumers on how it is used and the
benefits the technology can offer. Zoom is a remote video platform. If you have
a scheduled appointment, you will get an email from us. This email will have
directions for Zoom.
Reuse: Feel free to visit our web site ATFinder.org to explore resources for used assistive technology. AT Finder is an online search tool and resource database that assists individuals, and organizations, in obtaining new or used AT devices or equipment for little or no cost. This service allows users to search several classified and auction sites, both within Colorado and nationwide, using a single search tool. The site has also compiled a comprehensive list of other resources available to users in their search for AT devices and equipment. Any devices or equipment obtained from AT Finder should be based on a professional evaluation and recommendation from an Assistive Technology Specialist to assure proper usage and fit.
