CIDE and COEF Partner to Provide Valuable Employment Resources
Featuring Jim Sandstrum, CIDE Professional Services Coordinator
Oct 14, 2021CIDE was proud to celebrate October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month with 2021’s theme of America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion.
In response to the need for enhanced employment outcomes for people with disabilities, CIDE and the Colorado Office of Employment First (COEF) have partnered to create a library of valuable resources. Included are accessibility features available on computer operating systems, categories of AT products that support a range of disabilities, a selection of guides and information for transition and employment, and an extensive collection of recorded video sessions covering topics on technology and disability.
CIDE's "Enhancing Employment Outcomes with Assistive Technology” project was completed by Professional Services Coordinator Jim Sandstrum, and accomplished through the collaborative partnership and support of the Colorado Office of Employment First (COEF) that is housed within JFK Partners, University of Colorado School of Medicine. The purpose of this project was to provide individuals with disabilities, family members, service providers and other community members information and support about Assistive Technology (AT) to support successful transitions from school to Competitive Integrated Employment.
