Show and Tell Series Focuses on Technology, Accessibility and Transition to Employment
By Jim Sandstrum, MA, SLP
Aug 20, 2021Each of the 10 sessions provided an informal overview of technology ranging from alternative wheelchair drive controls, to smart assistants, and finally to new “hearable” tech used by individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss. A different category was covered each week with an eye towards cutting edge options for people with vision, hearing, physical or cognitive disabilities.
Designed as an informal opportunity for attendees to hear about some of the newest innovations in technology for disability, these sessions provided a guided walk through and discussion of representative products, thoughts on their use and how they compare to other, similar technologies. The sessions were recorded and will be available on the CIDE website in early September 2021.
