CU Denver Goes Underground
Many of the artists who participated in Denver’s 2024 Underground Music Showcase are alumni of CU Denver’s Music & Entertainment Industry Studies program, while an intricate collaboration between CU Denver and Youth on Record has helped Denver’s music scene grow into what it is today.
The CU Denver Center for Psychedelic Research led by Jim Grigsby, PhD, launched this summer. The center is dedicated to improving the quality of life of people by studying the possible benefits psychedelic drugs may have in treating a range of mental, emotional, neurologic, and other health conditions, as well as their potential use for late-stage cancer, and chronic, debilitating diseases.
Five Remarkable State Leaders
The inaugural School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) Alumni Leadership Awards honored Susana Cordova MA '00, Judi Diaz Bonacquisti MBA '03, EdD '19, Lisa Roy MA '96, EdD '16, Jennifer Sobanet EdD '22, and Dave Young MA '00, who are positively impacting communities throughout Colorado, the nation, and the globe through equity-minded and inclusive leadership practices.
The Auraria Campus is buzzing again as Welcome Week kicked-off at CU Denver. Students started arriving on August 13 for move-in day at City Heights and LynxCrossing just prior to the New Student Convocation on August 16.
