Your Feedback Valued as CU Presidential Finalist Todd Saliman Visits CU Denver on April 19

April 13, 2022

Dear Lynx Community,

As you probably saw yesterday, the CU Board of Regents has named interim President Todd Saliman as the sole finalist for the permanent position. This announcement sets up a 14-day period for campus stakeholders – and the community at large – to have the opportunity to meet with Saliman and provide feedback to the Board of Regents.

The person who serves as president of our university has a crucial role as the chief executive of the entire CU System and is ultimately responsible for a $5.2 billion budget and 24,000 employees. My three fellow chancellors and I, who lead the individual campuses, report to the president. The president has an important job that impacts all of us and it’s critical that your voice is heard as the Regents make their decision in the coming weeks.

The CU Denver community will have an opportunity to hear Saliman’s vision and ask him questions at an open forum on our campus next week.

CU Presidential Finalist Todd Saliman Open Forum

Tuesday, April 19, 2-3 p.m.
Jake Jabs Event Center, Business School
1475 Lawrence St., Denver

I encourage all members of our campus community to attend in-person or watch the live-stream. Get involved. Ask your thoughtful questions. And, most importantly, share your feedback with the Board of Regents through this online forum. As Jack Kroll, board chair and a two-time CU Denver alum, recently said: “The board will not vote on the next CU president until considering all public input, which the board welcomes. We encourage everyone in the community to take part.” For more information about the search process, see the System Office’s presidential search page.

I also want to express my thanks to everyone who has already contributed to this process, especially the four CU Denver members of the search committee. Our campus was represented well by Student Government Association President Chris Hilton, graduate student William Mundo, Mechanical Engineering Assistant Professor Maryam Darbeheshti, and School of Public Affairs Dean Paul Teske. As Lynx, let’s continue to participate in this important process.
