For Students: A New Strategic Plan for CU Denver

Sent: June 17, 2021

Dear Students,

This afternoon, I was honored to present our new strategic plan to the CU Board of Regents. This plan represents the collective work of 3,000 members of our community—including students and alumni—and will be the guide we use to define the next 10 years of CU Denver’s future.

In January I challenged CU Denver to dream big and imagine a future that used our strengths to differentiate our university in pursuit of a brighter world. The end result is a bold and visionary plan that reimagines CU Denver’s role as an urban public research university in service of the idea that education should work for all: learners from all backgrounds and at all stages of life, industries and employers that need talent ready to hit the ground running, and communities requiring new solutions and discoveries.

Our plan acknowledges that today’s learners need education to work in the practical reality of their lives. Recognizing the diverse goals and dreams each student holds, we believe that each learner should be treated as a whole person to help them design lives of personal, professional, and social meaning.

We will begin work this fall to bring this vision to life. Be on the lookout for more information later in the summer.

The future is bright for CU Denver and for our students.
