Our biostatistics education programs integrate the fields of mathematics, statistics, and data science to create students who understand data. Students learn the principles and skills that lead to rigorous study design and analysis and are trained to apply their skills to real-world problems practically. Graduates are known for being work-ready and able to work independently in their first position after graduation.

We strive to be student-focused. Students motivate us to learn something new every day and keep us modern in our teaching including how to appropriately integrate tools such as ChatGPT into our learning and work. We maintain a small student-to-faculty ratio, allowing direct access to the faculty for advising, research advising, and general career advice.

The MPH provides fundamental training in public health sciences and develops expertise in a core set of biostatistical analysis methods and data wrangling skills.

The MS focuses on both the theory and application aspects of biostatistics. In addition to developing expertise in an extensive set of analysis methods, students learn how analysis methods work.

The PhD adds an additional emphasis on developing new study designs and methods and translating them into practice. Students use their new methods to solve important biological and public health problems impacting human health. We also offer several certificates for those wishing to add skills to an existing area of expertise.
